GEORG DIEZ is a writer and journalist at Der Spiegel and Spiegel Online where he is the author of the weekly and widely read column "Der Kritiker". He is the former cultural editor for leading German language national newspapers Süddeutsche Zeitung, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Sonntags Zeitung and Die Zeit.
In 2013, he co-founded the experimental digital journalistic platform 60pages which publishes long form non-fiction and organizes knowledge-based events around the world.
Diez studied history and philosophy in Munich, Hamburg, Berlin and Paris. Among his works are books on the theater, Berlin, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, a memoir about the death of his mother and (together with Christopher Roth) the eleven-volume-history about the global paradigm shift that took place in the years 1980 and 1981.
He lives in Berlin and is currently working on a book about Martin Luther.
