SIOBHAN ROBERTS writes for The New Yorker’s “Elements,” Quanta, and Nautilus, and at times has contributed to The New York Times, Smithsonian, The Guardian, The Globe and Mail, and The Walrus. She is an occasional Director’s Visitor at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, and is the author of three scientific biographies. While writing Genius at Play, The Curious Mind of John Horton Conway (Bloomsbury, 2015), she was a Fellow at the Leon Levy Center for Biography, at the CUNY Graduate Center in New York City. She is the recipient of the 2017 JPBM Communications Award for Expository and Popular Books, awarded by the American Mathematical Society and the Mathematical Association of America.
