VIRGINIA HEFFERNAN is a columnist at The New York Times Magazine, and is the editorial director of West Studios.
Formerly, she has been National Correspondent for Yahoo News. She served for four years as a daily television critic for The Times, where she also chronicled the convergence of television and the Internet in Screens, one of the first blogs on the Times's Web site. She has also contributed to The New Yorker, Slate, Mother Jones and many other publications.
She is the author, with Mike Albo, of the comic novel The Underminer, and her work has been widely anthologized. Her latest book is Magic and Loss: The Pleasures of the Internet.
