Philosopher; Founder and Editor, Arts & Letters Daily; Author, The Art Instinct
DENIS DUTTON (1944-2010), a philosopher, was founder and editor of the highly regarded Web publication, Arts & Letters Daily (www.aldaily.com). A native of Los Angeles, he taught the philosophy of art at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, wrote widely on aesthetics, and was editor of the journal Philosophy and Literature.
He is the author of The Art Instinct: Beauty, Pleasure and Human Evolution.
