ROBERT AUNGER, a biological anthropologist, is senior lecturer inevolutionary public health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
He has worked for over ten years on the theoretical, methodological and empirical problems of studying cultural evolution. He has taught at the University of Chicago, Northwestern University, the University of Cambridge and University College London. He is the author of The Electric Meme: A New Theory of How We Think, Reflexive Ethnographic Science, and co-author (with Valerie Curtis) of Gaining Control: How Human Behavior Evolved. He is the editor of Darwinizing Culture: The Status of Memetics as a Science.
